Dynamic Handwoven Silk Brocade Maru Obi 丸帯 (one-piece sash), the most formal obi.
Maru obi are made with the full pattern on the full length on both sides of the obi.
Used as a decorative means to close a kimono, both men and women used obi.

Lush warm tones, dark green, cream and bronze, browns.
Dense floral design of chrysanthemums, phoenix birds, bamboo leaves etc.
Can be draped for dynamic effect on a wall, window as a valance, or as a table runner on a credenza or dining table.
Frayed/wear at edges (see detail photos), but overall good condition for age of silk
Sumptuous yet reserved design.
