Porcelain plate decorated with fine veduta painting: in the mirror octagonal picture panel against golden background, framed with matte gold painted festoons above and below the picture, depicting the view of Baden bei Wien from the Kalvarienberg (Calvary). Reddish brown plate flag framed with delicate intertwined floral tendrils in gold, as well as gold borders. Inscription on the bottom of the plate: ‘Vue de Baaden, en Autriche.’ – View of Baaden, in Austria. View of Baden near Vienna from the Kalvarienberg, presumably from the site of the Beethoven Temple, erected in 1927 to mark the 100th anniversary of the death of Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827).
