Vintage Design
The company BRAUN AG brought the first table radio onto the market in 1957, the design of which had a sophisticated and appropriately trained author. Professor Herbert Hirche studied at the Bauhaus in Dessau. The TS 3 is tidy and dynamic with the two bevels on the front. The device was very expensive at the time, at 385 marks it cost almost two-thirds of the average monthly wage. The clientele of the buyers was small, today only a few good devices have survived.
With a few signs of wear. TS 3 stands for Tischsuper, a radio receiver with a so-called superhet circuit. The shapely device was designed for all wavebands of the time and plays on VHF. Dial lighting, magic eye, and volume control do not work at the moment.
Wooden chassis elm, front glass pane illuminated and printed, loudspeaker cover covered with fabric, control elements melamine light gray.
