A solid black walnut sideboard/credenza with drawer bottoms made of solid oak or maple. It is made by Master craftsman and artist Frank Buschmann with great attention to detail, such as having the drawer fronts made from a single piece to ensure a continuous wood grain. The joinery is hand-cut using traditional hand tools and is assembled without the use of nails or screws, using only dovetail joinery for the drawers and body. The Drawer bottoms are made from solid maple or oak wood.
This piece is Inspired by early 19th-century Shaker furniture that served as an ironing board for children but the design also incorporates modernist elements from Frank Lloyd Wright and George Nakashima. The finish is a durable and easy-to-maintain combination of oil and wax.
