Born in Turin in 1910 Adolfo Merlone, graduated from the conservatory, began his artistic career as a musician at the orchestra of the Teatro Regio in Turin.
A self-taught painter, at the end of the Thirties he approached ceramics and in the early Forties he opened a kiln in Rome called “Tanagra” where, assisted by his wife Maria Pagella, he produced artistic ceramics.
