Vintage creative kokeshi made by Sato Kouson (Komura).
Sato Kouson was one of the few female creative Kokeshi makers recognized as a skilled artist in Japan.
This kokeshi has a soft and friendly face, typical of all her dolls.
The black/red kimono is beautifully crafted by wood carving and adorned with a floral pattern.
A rare kokeshi highly sought after by collectors and a unique decorative piece.
Dimensions: height 30 cm, diameter 9 cm. The bottom is signed and stamped with the artist’s hanko.
