This Really is a Great Looking & Very Fine Quality Authentic Nautical – Ships Hand Held Spyglass – Telescope. Circa Mid 20th Century. Giant Size – Measures Approx 43 1/4 inches when Fully Extended ( Including Sun Visor ) – 42 Inches Without x 3 1/2 inches Wide – Tall. It has 5 “Draws” – Segments. It is Also Quite Heavy with a Total Weight of Approx 5 Pounds. It was Made – is Signed by the Well Documented BROADHURST CLARKSON & CO. LTD – 63 FARRINGDON ROAD LONDON E. C. It is Beautifully Made Out of Solid Brass and The The 2 End Cap Lens Covers and The Body is Wrapped in Genuine Cowhide – Leather. The Front Lens has the Added Feature of a Slide Out Sun Visor. It is in Very Nice All Original Cosmetic and Functional Condition. The Brass Exterior Parts have Developed a Wonderful Natural Aged Color & Patina and it Displays Beautifully. Also – I have Cleaned the Internal Magnifying Glass Lenses and It has Very Good Optics. Imperfections Noted – The Leather Mid Section – Body ( Not Including the Visor ) has a Few Small Age and use Related Dents Here and There. Also it is Missing the Leather Belt – Strap that Would have Been Attached to the Body and Held the 2 End Caps – Covers.

PLEASE NOTE – THAT THIS IS A PRECISION INSTRUMENT AND SHOULD ALWAYS BE TREATED WITH CARE. WHEN EXTENDING THE SPYGLASS FOR VIEWING FROM THE CLOSED – COLLAPSED POSITION ALWAYS BE SURE TO EXTEND EACH DRAW SLOWLY – GENTLY & DELIBERATELY ( NEVER TUG OR YANK IT OPEN ). TO CLOSE – COLLAPSE THE SPYGLASS USE THE SAME PROCEDURE IN REVERSE.

HOW DO I USE AND FOCUS THIS SPYGLASS ? – The Spyglass Can be Focused by Viewing – Looking Threw the Eyepiece When it is Fully Extended and Fixing Your Sight on a Item Off in The Distance and Then Adjusting by Slightly Shortening the the Length at the Last – Viewing Draw. Until Focused.
