An eccentric and unusual amber glass decanter/ewer in the shape of a pheasant or grouse, made in continental Europe, probably France, in the mid 20th century.
The head and feet metal mounts are silver plated and very nicely cast, while the body of the claret jug is thick amber glass with a nice weight to it. The head has a cork to the interior and acts as a spout for pouring through the beak, and is in working condition.
A wonderful and unusual vintage hunting-themed item.
