A remarkable claret jug from early 20th Century Spain, featuring a solid silver mount shaped as an owl. The deep ruby red glass forms both the body and handle, while the head, crafted from solid silver, is intricately hinged and realistically engraved with feather details and glass eyes. The talons, also realistically modelled in solid silver, complete this exquisite piece. Hallmarked Spanish silver 915 (915+ standard), Madrid, Maker’s mark for Dionisio Garcia Gomez.
