Vintage Design
Aubusson French manufacturing is famous for producing wall tapestries and the weaving of splendid floor carpets. Both of these textile products, Semper of high quality, were charged to complete the sumptuous furnishings of villas and palaces of the Parisian aristocracy. Come took place for tapestries; even carpet cartons were designed by the best artists of the time, according to the most popular style of the moment. The specimen we propose is typical of the Napoleon III era: the decorative plant is characterized by a large decorated border from the plaster of the Parisian dwellings. The central reason is the triumph of flowers. The main colours, red coral and the parchment beige, are colours that we often find even in the French end nineteenth century’s upholstery.
