Nemausa is sitting on a jar where the water flows, pensive, a mirror by hand. Her hair is decorated with lily pads. The black and green marble base, is decorated with bronze (leaves, reeds, rushes …) supported by two women in antiquity.
A pair of candelabra leaves and spikes of reeds, 6 lights each
Nemausa was a goddess of fertility and healing sanctuary belonging to the source of the same name, located near Nimes.
According to the catalog raisonné, there are several variations including this one on the pendulum.
