ABOUT KURT ØSTERVIG
Kurt Østervig was a Danish furniture designer known for his contributions to the midcentury modern movement. Østervig was born in 1906 and began his career as a carpenter before studying furniture design at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts in the 1930s. He went on to work for several furniture companies, including KP Møbler in Denmark, where he designed this Scandinavian midcentury bar. Østervig’s designs are characterized by their clean lines, functionality, and use of high-quality materials. He was also known for his use of wood and his ability to showcase the natural beauty of the material through his designs.
