Denoting permanence and longevity, Obelisk Spheres implies eternity, without omitting to reflect that this sentiment also rests on something as unstable and transient as a sphere. Its message intimates something ancient and eternal, about the interface between the permanent and the ephemeral.
Each cubic millimetre has been worked by hand in the Four Crowns studio to the highest standards.
Scagliola, the material used for the main body of the piece, is made by manipulating plaster and natural pigments. Applying our stone masonry expertise, we have worked the material so that we are able to faithfully mirror rare, lost or ancient stone.
