In Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism, Amoghasiddhi is one of the five Wisdom Buddhas, guardian of the North, his name means “He whose achievement will not be in vain”. His right hand is raised in abhaya mudra, the absence of fear and the dissipation of fear, a symbol of fearlessness in the face of illusions or in particular the transcendence of jealousy.
