To mark the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus in 2019, the English manufacturer Christopher Farr is launching hand-tufted rugs inspired by Gunta Stölzl’s visionary textile designs of the 1920s. As the first female master of the Bauhaus, Stölzl revolutionized the art of hand weaving and worked closely with Marcel Breuer. This special rug project, developed in collaboration with Stölzl’s daughters, pays homage to her outstanding role in modern textile art.
